PEI has many engaging attractions and special events to offer visiting tourists as well as local residents, such as this red and white lighthouse museum that is close to our Bed and Breakfast.
The Seaport Lighthouse is located in the little fishing village of "Victoria by the Sea" and is only fifteen minutes from our BnB.

Island Lavender Distillery
Be sure to take in the aroma of the Tymstra's Lavender fields and check out their quaint retail shop where you can buy lavender soap, lavender bug spray, lotions, potions, and so much more.

This little school house is now being used once a year to "meet and greet nearby neighours" and to welcome newcomers to the area.

St. Catherines Hiking Trail
Hiking and Biking Trail (5K). Varied terrain. Trail cuts through private property so please stay on the trail and be respectful.

The St. Catherine's Pioneer Cemetery where you'll see many interesting gravestones from the 1800's.

Bonshaw Hills Provincial Park
Ecological Park and one of the most beautiful areas of Prince Edward Island.
Over 18km of hiking and mountain bike trails for all fitness levels along the Bonshaw River.
Picnic facilities, natural adventure playground featuring swings, balancing ropes and the "Crosby Hill."

Bonshaw Hall Heritage Building
This hall is a very old church building erected by Bonshaw Presbyterians between 1864 and 1867.
This church is currently being used as our local community hall.

Strathgartney Highlands Golf Course and Driving Range
Picturesque 9 hole golf course and a 275 yard driving range in the rolling hills of Bonshaw.

Car Life Museum
Antique car enthusiasts will appreciate the display of ancient vehicles and farm equipment. The star of the show is a pink Cadillac formerly owned by Elvis Presley.

Canoe Cove Beach
A quiet and "less busy" beach in rural PEI with warmer water than many of the other spots on the island.
Picnic tables, free parking, washrooms, and a pavilion are available.
Pets are allowed on a leash.
Note: You'll want to be sure that the tide is out to take advantage of the sandy beach and tidal pools for your children to play in. They'll find starfish, crabs, and other sea critters.

Argyle Shore Provincial Park
This park is open from the middle of June to the middle of September.
It's a nice day park with picnic tables, play ground equipment for your children, showers and toilets.
There is a stair case to the unsupervised beach.
The beach is so much nicer when the tide is low so check the tide schedule here before you go.

Victoria by the Sea
A charming seaport established in 1819.
Lots of of quaint little shops many of which feature local artist's handcrafted items. Eateries, a chocolate shop, a playhouse (theater), historic light house, a wharf where fishermen bring in their lobster catch for the day, a beach for swimming, and kayak rentals.

Westmoreland River Nature Park
Designed for community recreation, education and wildlife conservation with enhanced habitat features to encourage birds, insects and fish.
There are fishing platforms, a natural fish passage, a restored spillway, and a picnic shelter.

Really-O Handcrafts and Tryon Museum
A quaint museum that interprets the history of the area.
There is also an antique radio collection on display.
At the back of the museum you will find hand made wood and wool items for sale lovingly created by the guide and owners.

Historical South Shore United Church built in 1882.
Tryon Peoples’ Cemetery (A pioneer cemetery from the early 1900's).
Tryon River Trail (Approx. 2 km trail that links the historic sites).
Bring your camera. You'll want to capture the natural features of the area including meadows, small woods, fresh-water bog, salt marshes, native plants, shrubs and trees.
You might spot foxes, butterflies, red herons, and black squirrels.
You can also visit Lord’s Pond Memorial Park approximately 1km North of the Museum.

The Confederation Bridge
The world's largest bridge over icy waters connecting Prince Edward Island to New Brunswick.
This 12.9 kilometre (8 mile) long bridge continues to endure as one of Canada’s top engineering achievements of the 20th century.

Port Borden Front Range Lighthouse
This decommissioned lighthouse is located in the Marine/Rail Historic Parkland.
Grab yourself an ice-cream and claim a picnic table.
It's the perfect spot to get good pictures of the Confederation Bridge while your kids play in the park.

Fable Tea Room in the Leard House
A restored, historic, home where Lucy Maud Montgomery (the author of Anne of Green Gables) stayed while she taught in the school down the lane.
It was at this house that she met the "love of her life", Herman Leard.
Lucy wrote in her journal that she had a secret love affair with Herman while she was engaged to someone else.
During renovations, a corset, a garter belt, a man's handkerchief, and what appears to be a lady's night jacket was found under the floor boards.
(We'll leave that up to your imagination as to why they might have been put there!)
There is a museum above the Tea Room where Montgomery artifacts are displayed.
