WINTER EVENTS


DECEMBER 2019 

Christmas Craft Fair

When: Sat., Dec. 14th (9am - 2:30pm)

Where: The Milton Community Hall, 7A New Glasgow Road - PE 224 North Milton.

Adult tickets available (children under 12 free)

Bonshaw Christmas Concert

An evening of fun, fellowship, fiddles, guitars, songs, stories, hot mulled cider, Christmas cookies, plus... Santa with Mrs. Claus and their elves.

Admission by donation.
Proceeds going to the Hall.
Donations to the South Shore Food Bank will be accepted.

Christmas Decorating Contest

The town of Kensington welcomes all home owners and businesses to participate in the Annual Christmas Decorating Contest.

FEBRUARY 2020 

International Potato Technology Expo

Potato Trade Show and Conference

This international event brings together potato growers, packagers, and potato equipment manufacturing exhibitors focused on anything and everything potato related.

Jack Frost Winter Festival

The 15th annual Jack Frost Winter Festival this year includes: Snow Kingdom, live entertainment, indoor play-land with bouncy castles, a warming zone with food, drinks, and crafts.   Fireworks to follow.

Where: The Winter Festival will NOT be held at the Charlottetown Event Grounds and East Link Centre this year. Instead, it will be spread out among various designated places in downtown Charlottetown, PE.

APRIL 2020 

Canadian Folk Music Awards

Charlottetown is hosting the national Canadian Folk Music Awards in April, 2020.  Delegates from across the country will be participating.  Seven of which are P.E.I. performers, and include: Irish Mythen, Richard Wood, Gordie MacKeeman and the Rhythm Boys, Lennie Gallant, Jen Grant and Dan Ledwell.

The Musical, "GREASE"

The College of Piping Theatre Arts Department is launching a New Community Theatre Program production of GREASE.

JUNE 2020 

Anne of Green Gables–The Musical™

Live Theatre

Based on the story about a young red headed orphan girl named, Anne. She is mistakenly delivered to an older couple who are looking to adopt a boy to work on their farm in Avonlea, Prince Edward Island. Anne wins the couples heart so they decide to keep her even though they had requested a boy.

Tignish Irish Moss Festival

Started in 1980, the Tignish Irish Moss Festival is a celebration to recognize the importance of the moss harvesting industry in the Western area of Prince Edward Island.

This particular type of moss (Irish) is used for products such as toothpaste and cheese because of it's gel-forming properties.

The moss is collected from the water at the beach and harvested using horses.  You just might be fortunate enough to see a man and his horse at work if you travel to the very western tip of PEI and look over the North Cape cliff.   

Some of the festivities during the weekend celebration will include: Beach parties, lobster suppers, Miss Irish Moss Pageant, quilt shows, fireworks, entertainment, and more.

PEI Potato Blossom Festival

These Potato Blossom Festivals have been celebrated since 1968 making this year's event the 51st!

July is potato blossom season.

Some of the fun activities will include: Singing Competition, Potato Peeling Contest, Washer Toss, Car Show, Farmers Market, Pancake Breakfast, Parade, Fireworks, and so much more.

The theme for 2020 is "Christmas in July".
